Cost & Insurance

Insurance (short answer): I accept insurance from Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna and those plans that pay for Out-Of-Network Providers.

Insurance (long answer): Our insurance system doesn't work well for therapy. HMO's (Health Maintenance Organizations, like Kaiser) have their own therapists on staff and their own rules. PPO's (Preferred Provider Organizations, like Blue Cross) have lists of therapists who have agreed to submit regular reports to them and limit coverage to what they believe is appropriate. And all of this is reviewed and processed by all kinds of people in all kinds of places.

I believe therapy is an intensely private experience and that confidentiality is critical to the success of therapy. I also believe that the client and the therapist know best what is appropriate in a given situation and I will work with you and your insurance company.

Cost (the bottom line): I charge $125 per 50-minute session.
